A Discussion on Documentary Photography

Monday February 3, 2020, 6:30 to 8:45pm

We will discuss

            What is Documentary Photography?

            Why do we need it?

            Who is the target audience?

Who are some of the great documentary-photographer?

What can we use it for?

Is it only historical in nature?

So you are not a documentary photography, guess again?

Examples of web sites taken off the web:

Documentary photography is a style of photography that provides a straightforward and accurate representation of people, places, objects and events, and is often used in reportage

Lighting SIG

The January 11th Lighting SIG is next weekend!  We  will be setting up off camera strobes to photograph children. We will be at McAuliffe Library's (Water St Framingham)  large Meeting room from 1pm to 5 pm. Learn to set up off camera strobes....meter the lights for correct camera settings.....photograph children coming in to model for us. There will be a single lighting setup. This will be hands on.....bring your camera and short/med lens. With children plus multiple photographers you will only get a few images and you will need to shoot quickly.....your subjects will most likely not pose too much...this will be about getting your lighting correct and just getting a child's attention to look at your camera. Please  feel free to just come and watch the session if you like but do please keep background chatter to a minimum as kids are easily distractable.

Email me if you have any questions!  Ann.fogarty@comcast.net
