The event was held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Members who visit the Orchid adventure at the Franklin Park Zoo will photograph orchids, animals and other zoo visitors indoors.  The event celebrates orchids from tropical America, Madagascar, and west Africa.   The exotic flowers are displayed in Franklin Park’s warm Tropical Forest, the home of gorillas, lemurs, and hippos.  Franklin Park also has an indoor bird house and other outdoor animals. 

We will meet on Saturday February 17 at 9:30 at the Giraffe Entrance.  Admission is $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for folks 62 and older.   The zoo allows photography, but NOT flash photography.  Tripods are discouraged and not practical because they could interfere with traffic in the small space.   

Unfortunately the indoor cafe is closed for renovation and it may be a bit cold for even rugged Gateway members to picnic.   Our group can easily drive to a restaurant in nearby Jamaica Plain or Roslindale.
